Governor General of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas Visits DTC Botswana

Her Excellency the Most Honourable Dame Cynthia Alexandria Pratt, Governor General of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, visited DTC Botswana on the 30th July 2024.

This visit is a momentous occasion for both DTC Botswana and the Republic of Botswana. It offers a unique opportunity to strengthen diplomatic ties and explore potential areas of cooperation between Botswana and the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, bringing substantial benefits to both nations.

Welcoming Her Excellency and her entourage, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Minerals and Energy, Mr. Pelaelo Khowe, highlighted that the visit provides a platform for deeper discussions regarding potential collaborations in the minerals and energy sector, emphasizing the commitment to sustainable development and responsible natural resource management.

During the visit, the Managing Director of DTC Botswana, Mr. Sedireng ‘Sed’ Serumola, showcased the pivotal role DTC Botswana plays in the diamond pipeline and its contribution to the aspirations of Botswana’s National Development Plan.

The visit was graced by the Honourable Peggy Serame, Minister of Finance; the Coordinator of the Diamond Hub, Mr. Jacob Thamage; and senior government officials from Botswana and the Commonwealth of The Bahamas.
