On the 19th March 2024, a delegation led by the Honourable Philip E. Davis, Prime Minister of The Commonwealth of The Bahamas, was welcomed by Mr. Sedireng ‘Sed’ Serumola, the Managing Director of Diamond Trading Company (DTC) Botswana, and the Honourable Lefoko Moagi, Minister of Minerals and Energy, at DTC Botswana. High Commissioner Onkokame Kitso Mokaila, accredited to The Bahamas, was also present.
The main objective of the Prime Minister’s visit to DTC Botswana was to gain insights into the diamond industry, understand DTC Botswana’s operations, and recognize its crucial role in the diamond industry. During the visit, the delegation was provided with a comprehensive tour of the state-of-the-art facility, which was a unique learning opportunity.
The visit served as a testament to the growing strength of diplomatic and business relations between BW Presidency and The Bahamas. Both countries share a deep commitment to their respective economies’ continued prosperity and development. The visit provided an invaluable platform for mutual learning and collaboration, further advancing the collective efforts of Botswana and The Bahamas towards their shared goal of sustainable economic growth and development.
